In rare cases where the disease manifests in younger individuals the disease is usually more aggressive and maintains more pronounced symptoms. It generally affects people of European descent and is classified as a rare disease affecting only as much as 7 in 100000 people of European ancestry.

Definition and Cause of Fifth Disease Fifth disease or erythema infectiosum is caused by parovirus B19. It is not the same virus that is seen in household pets and cannot be passed from animal to human. It usually affects children within the 5-15 age group though it can also affect adults. The illness is not life-threatening and sufferers recover relatively quickly after being exposed to the disease. Recent studies have indicated that it is possible to have no symptoms when afflicted with the condition based on findings that adults who tested positive for the infection could not recall every being stricken with the disease when younger. The virus is present throughout the world and it appears to manifest during the latter phases of winter to early spring. However, it is possible for the disease to affect individuals any time of the year but at a fairly reduced rate.

Morgellons Disease or Morgellons Syndrome  refers to a condition that is referred to by the Centers for Disease Control as an unexplained dermopathy. It is characterized by a range of skin-related symptoms such as crawling sensations on and under the skin, fibers on or under the skin and lesions or rashes that are persistent. There is question as to whether this newly identified disease is actually a new disease, because of its similarity to another existing condition known as Delusional Parasitosis. Due to the debate as to whether this is a new disease, treatment may not come easily, and as such, some patients have done self-treatment that can prove to be quite dangerous. Some of these include the use of bleach and pest insecticides and other industrial chemicals. This disease refers to any problem related to the thyroid glands located in the back of the neck. With Hashimoto’s Diseases the body recognized the thyroid as being foreign and the immune system will attack it, resulting in it being irritated. This attack on the thyroid gland leads to an underactive thyroid gland, noted as being Hypothyroidsm. The thyroid gland produces the Pituitary Thyroid Hormone which is responsible for controlling how the body uses it energy and also influences growth. Hashimoto’s Disease can affect anyone; however it is common in women between the ages of 30 and 50.
